Three-time Dove Award winner Fernando Ortega and Rexburg Children’s Choir present an exquisite and soothing performance of the song ‘Give me Jesus’.
In the morning when I rise,
in the morning when I rise,
in the morning when I rise,
give me Jesus.
Give me Jesus, give me Jesus.
You may have all this world, give me Jesus.
Oh, when I come to die,
oh, when I come to die,
oh, when I come to die,
give me Jesus
Author unknown, the song ‘Give Me Jesus’ is an Afro-American spiritual Hymn. The song appears to be an amalgamation of the white hymn tradition and the creativity and existential experiences of enslaved Africans.
This beautiful music video shot at the historic Rexburg Tabernacle is a delicious treat for the eyes and the ears, soothing the spirit. Ortega’s piano lead along with the inspirational lyrics and joyful expressions of the children added to the beauty of the performance.
I loved the way the children were smiling as they were singing and seemed like they meant what they sang. Hopefully they’ll grow up to have a relationship with Jesus
So very pretty, and so many of the children had such Angelic faces. The way they looked up, and the gleam in their eyes. It was as if they were actually singing to the face of our Lord Jesus.
Incredibly inspiring!
