A quick-thinking security guard in Turkey pulled a woman to safety just moments before an oncoming tram would have hit her.
The incident happened on October 14 in the city of Kayseri, Turkey. A woman was walking toward the tram platform. She had her headphones on and was looking the wrong way. She did not see the tram coming toward her. She stepped right into its path.
A security guard was watching the yellow safety line that day. He saw her walking toward danger.
The guard did not wait. He ran to her and grabbed her, pulling her out of the way just in time.
The woman fell to the ground from the force of his pull. People at the tram stop were shaken up, but they were all so relieved. This could have ended very badly.
Kayseri Transportation shared the video and released a statement.
“This incident serves as an important reminder for all of us,” they said. “We thank our security guard for his attention and sense of responsibility. However, what we really need to pay attention to is that all our passengers be more careful and aware on the rail systems.”
