5 Facts About The Second Coming Of Jesus Christ

We are most interested in the second coming of Christ. The question of when will Christ come is on the lips of many people including the non-Christians. We are desperate to know the things that surround the coming of Christ. What most of us know about this is that Jesus will come the second time and that why it is called the second coming but when Jesus will come, what are the things are bound to happen, what are the signs we should be expecting when the second coming of Jesus is close? Some facts will amaze us about the second coming of Christ. Some of these we must have heard people talk about it but we are not sure what they mean.

Let’s look at the facts about the second coming of Jesus and the things that make the second important.

1. No one will know the time of His second coming.

This is the first fact we should bear in mind. No matter how hard we try to put together and solve some puzzles to know the specific time, it will result in null. There had been many predictions in the time past about the specific day Jesus would come but it was all wrong. That would leave you wondering, hasn’t Jesus talked about not knowing the time of His second coming? The surprise about this is that even Jesus claimed not to know the time Himself. Matthew 24:36 NIV “But about that day or hour no one knows, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father.” If no one knows the time of His coming, then why should anyone believe the predictions given by men? In everything we do, we must be ready because no one knows the time. Matthew 24:44.

2. The second coming will happen when the Gospel reaches the whole world.

Before Jesus ascended to heaven, He gave a command. He said that we should go into the world and preach the Gospel. The command was not just for the believers present at that particular time but it is for us also. Jesus wants us to spread the Gospel – the reason is that everyone must hear about the love of Christ before He would come back so they will know who He is. At the time Jesus commanded the disciples, it may be something that looks hard because it will involve a lot of traveling but in this recent times, technology has spread so fast that we can use it for the sake of the Gospel. Matthew 24:14 “And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in all the world as a witness to all the nations, and then the end will come.”

3. All eyes will see Him.

The second coming of our Lord Jesus Christ is nothing that will be in secret. It will be audible and clear that everyone on earth will see and know that it is Jesus coming. The first coming of Christ, that is When He was given birth to – not everyone saw Him while He came to the world but the second coming will be nothing like the first because he will be coming to make a judgment to the earth. Even though people would be caught unaware, some sleeping, some marrying, some working, it doesn’t matter the position at which is when He comes, all eyes will see him. Revelation 1:7 “Behold, He is coming with clouds, and every eye will see Him, even they who pierced Him. And all the tribes of the earth will mourn because of Him. Even so, Amen.”

4. He will not come alone.

This might come as a surprise and leave many wondering, who will follow Jesus Christ when He is coming back the second time? According to the Bible, it won’t be only Jesus coming the second time. He might have come to the world as a child alone but this time, he would come with His glory, power, honor, and with His Angels. Imagine billions of angels coming this time with Jesus Christ, it will be very conspicuous. Not only the sight now but the sound, the noise. Matthew 24:30-31.

5. The righteous would be changed.

When apostle Paul was writing concerning the second coming of Jesus, he focused on the part of the righteous. What will happen to them when Jesus comes? 1 Corinthians 15:50-51 “Now this I say, brethren, that flesh, and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God; nor does corruption inherit incorruption. Behold, I tell you a mystery: We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed.” Paul was saying since we are going to meet Jesus when He comes, we can’t do that in this flesh full of corruption but we will be transformed. This will happen when angels start gathering the righteous (the elect). Matthew 24:31.

waiting.. That is where my Hope comes…

Many people get the Second Coming of Jesus Return to the Earth mixed up with the Rapture of the Church. These are two separate events. In the Gospels Jesus is talking about His Return to the Mount of Olives, when every eye will see Him, which will usher in His Rule and Reign on the throne of David in Jerusalem. Paul on the other hand is talking about the Rapture of the Church, which had not been previously known to the Nation of Israel. That’s why he says, I show you a mystery or a secret. He also calls it… Read more »
