John Crist as Megachurch Pastor Dreams Up the Most Bizarre Church Fundraiser Yet

Comedian John Crist pretended to be a megachurch pastor who wants to sell seat licenses to church members. The funny video shows how some churches care more about money than worship.

It’s heartbreaking to see so many churches operating like businesses today. They’ve lost the moral and faith values, and the burning fire they had when they first began serving God.

These churches do things in the name of our Lord, but behind those acts, it’s often just a money-making scheme.

John Crist’s video shows how much some churches have strayed from what God intended them to be.

In his YouTube video, Crist plays Pastor Doug from Cornerstone Christian church. The fake pastor announces his church will sell personal seat licenses to pay for building updates. He tells people this new plan will bring “an influx of cash into the congregation here.”

Pastor Doug talks about how families stress on Sunday mornings about finding seats. He says the church sits in a rich area, so they decided to “take advantage of that revenue stream.”

The fake pastor explains how the licenses will stop people from fighting over seats, especially those who say “I’ve been here for 25 years. This is where I sit.”

The skit gets even funnier when Pastor Doug offers a backup plan for people who can’t buy licenses. He says, “We will have an auxiliary television set up in the pavilion on the west side of the parking lot if people would like to worship over there.”

Crist’s video makes us laugh, but it also makes us think. Some real churches might actually consider ideas like this. The comedian shows us how wrong it feels when churches treat worship like a business deal.

There’s no doubt that we’re living in the last days when we see what’s happening around us. Jesus warned us about false teachers and greedy leaders who would use God’s name for their own profit. We need to be careful when choosing a church today.

When a church cares more about making money than saving souls, something is very wrong. We need to find churches that teach the Bible, love people, and point us to Jesus. That’s what God intended His house to be.

Verse of the Day

““Are not five sparrows sold for two copper coins? And not one of them is forgotten before God. But the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Do not fear therefore; you are of more value than many sparrows.”
