Kaleb Carson survived leukemia at age two, was told he would never speak after a surgical complication. But he went on to sing the worship song ‘You’re Not Finished’ with Anthony Evans and the story behind that song was his powerful testimony.

We may not always know why certain things happen in our lives. But for a child of God, there is comfort in knowing that He sees exactly what we are going through and already has the full picture.
He is bringing us through certain situations to mold us into what He wants us to be. Kaleb Carson is a living example of that truth.
When Kaleb was two years old, his mother noticed something was wrong. He was pale. He was sick. She took him to the hospital and walked out with a diagnosis nobody wants to hear — Acute Myeloid Leukemia.
Doctors gave him a 10% chance to live. And if that wasn’t enough, a surgical procedure during his treatment injured his vocal cord. Doctors told his family he would never speak.
His family turned to prayer.
By God’s grace, Kaleb came through. He went into full remission in 2004. And somewhere around age eight, he had a vision of himself standing on a stage, performing. He started spending time at the computer watching Whitney Houston videos.
By nine, he was practicing singing every single day. By twelve, he knew this was what God had called him to do.
Think about that for a moment. The child doctors said would never speak grew up to sing.
Anthony Evans met Kaleb at a writing camp, not knowing any of this. Kaleb’s mom pulled Anthony aside and simply said, “I think my son can do what you’re needing.”
Two and a half years later, Anthony sat everyone down on tour and asked them to share something he didn’t know. Kaleb told his story.
Anthony said he couldn’t stop thinking about “the times in all of our lives where we feel like we’re at our 10%.”
So they sat at Anthony’s kitchen table with Danielle Munizzi and wrote ‘You’re Not Finished,’ released in 2024.

The song draws from Philippians 1:6, the truth that God completes what He begins in each of us.
Anthony has watched audiences erupt when they realize the young man singing was that same little boy given almost no chance.
Kaleb himself puts it simply. “God pulled me out of that situation, and this song comes from that real-life experience.”
We have all felt like we’re at our own 10%. Like the odds are against us and God has gone quiet. But Kaleb Carson is standing right there, singing with a voice doctors said would never exist, reminding us that God keeps His promises every single time.
