God has a great plan for Mikhaila Peterson, the daughter of famous psychologist, Jordan Peterson. Everything was changed and is still changing from the time she sought Him until now.
Jordan Peterson was known to have given controversial statements when it comes to faith. In an interview a couple of years back, he answered that he was “not willing to place myself conveniently in a box” of believing one man — namely, Jesus — to be the Savior.
Mikhaila faced four notable experiences in her life just this year. These issues were really disturbing and things have not been going well for her. Thankfully, she met a Christian when she went to Austin, Texas. She shared with him her concerns and he only had one thing to say, she needed God.
She did not know how to “get there” or how to connect to Him. The man told her that she could ask God to reveal Himself to her. This started her search for God.
Mikhaila narrated in her podcast, “I went home that night, and I was pretty upset about these four major problems, and I was in bed, so I was praying, seriously praying … and the next day, all four problems cleared up in ways that made sense, it was logical, they could have cleared up. But the likelihood of all four of them randomly clearing up that day was just too much.”
“I also woke up with this sense of calm that I hadn’t felt and that was enough. I was like, ‘Okay, that’s good enough for me.” This was the start of her intimate relationship with God.
Then, she started to read the Bible, pray, and reflect on the words of God. She was doubtful at first and thought that this faith of hers was just an “emotional fluke” which could be logically explained later on. However, things did not end there. She had a dream after a couple of days. “And then I had the most wild dream. [I] woke up at 5:30 in the morning and I had a dream. … This loud thundering voice just yelled, ‘Do it!’ And I woke up at 5:30 in the morning, thinking, I think I just got yelled at by God. I think that just happened. That’s what it felt like.”
“It occurred to me that I think what it meant was just go all in, don’t do this like 75% in. It’s been a wild month. I’m doing well. It’s just I’m a little bit shocked.” She went on to explain in her podcast.
God cannot be limited to a certain way or mold when it comes to revealing Himself to His people. He can use pretty much anything to connect to someone. He used a burning bush, an angel, or even a donkey to reveal Himself and his message. That is why it is not a surprise if God might have used a dream to reveal Himself to Mikaila. More than getting His message across, the primary reason why He lets Himself be known is for us to experience His deep love.
