A three-year-old boy captured hearts worldwide after a simple moment of enjoying popcorn at a basketball game went viral.
Sterling became famous overnight at the Phoenix Suns game on November 13. The little guy was busy eating popcorn from a bucket nearly as big as his whole body.
Then he saw himself on the big screen. He smiled this precious smile and waved his little hand. That moment took off on social media and got over 50 million views.
His dad Christopher had no clue what happened until they came home from vacation. “We started getting text messages,” Christopher said.
He does not use social media at all. His wife had to make a TikTok account just so they could watch the video. Friends kept calling and texting. “That’s you. That’s Sterling. What’s going on?”
Christopher said he did not understand what going viral meant until that week.
The Suns brought Sterling and his family back on Friday for special treatment. They watched the players warm up from courtside seats.
When someone asked Sterling about being famous, he got shy. “I was eating popcorn!” he said. He told them the popcorn was good and he wants more.
