A 24-year-old singer from Florence, Alabama, performs a moving cover of ‘God Only Knows’ on ‘The Voice.’
Savanna Kirby, who goes by the stage name Kirbi stunned the judges with her version of ‘God Only Knows’ by Christian pop duo For King & Country.
The song talks about God’s unconditional love for us, even when we feel alone or misunderstood. When Kirby started singing with her gifted voice, all four coaches one by one turned their chairs around.
Niall Horan first commented about Kirby’s performance. He said her singing was “absolutely incredible” and “next level.”
Reba McEntire asked her about her favorite genre of music to sing. Kirbi explained she grew up singing country and blues. Then she added something important. She said her faith is a big part of who she is, and she was excited to share that with everyone.
Michael Bublé responded warmly. “My faith is really important to me, too,” he said. He loved that she chose that song.
Snoop Dogg praised Kirbi for standing on her faith. “The music that you chose and the way that you standing on your faith is beautiful,” he said. He added that with so much negativity around, standing for what’s right deserves applause.
After hearing from all four coaches, Kirbi made her choice. She picked Niall as her coach.
It’s so encouraging to see Savanna Kirby sharing her faith on a national platform where many might shy away. We can honor God wherever we are, using whatever gifts He has given us.
