A mother and her two children, one only 2 years old, found themselves in a perilous situation when they were pinned under a vehicle. Miraculously, the 3-year-old girl managed to free herself. But the real test of courage came when Chris Crowder, associate pastor and CEO of the Layton Christian Academy, witnessed the accident. He immediately understood the gravity of the situation and called upon the students for help.

“I didn’t really know what was going on,” Crowder recalled. “I looked across the parking lot and noticed the car and they were screaming. So, I ran over there and saw the mom and child under the car. It was split second. I ran into the building to get help. All these kids from different countries just come running out and lift it up.”

The school’s surveillance video captured the heart-stopping moments as students rushed out to surround the car. Displaying incredible teamwork, 20 to 30 teenagers lifted the vehicle just enough for an airman from Hill Air Force Base to pull the mother and child to safety. “The kids were heroes, as well as the gentleman that was there and pulled them out,” Crowder said.

The 2-year-old boy was flown to the hospital, while the mother and 3-year-old girl were transported by ambulance. Despite the severity of the injuries, especially for the mother who shielded her son, all are expected to recover. Crowder expressed his gratitude to God saying. “It’s a miracle. We have just seen God do so many things here, and this is one of them,” he said.

A GoFundMe account has been set up to support the family’s medical expenses.
