‘Sounds like Reign’ presents beautiful music video of Lindsay singing the well-known Christian hymn, ‘Tis So Sweet To Trust In Jesus.’
This hymn was written by Louisa.M.R.Stead, who was born in Dover, England, and came to the US in 1871, and lived in Cincinnati. She dedicated her life to missionary work after attending a camp meeting in Urbana, Ohio. She got married in 1875, and had a daughter, Lily.
Louisa wrote this timeless hymn after a tragedy struck her family. During a picnic at Long Island Sound, New York, they heard a boy crying for help in the sea while eating their lunch. Mr. Stead dove into the water in a desperate attempt to save the boy’s life. However, the struggling boy pulled him underwater, and both drowned before Louisa and her 4-year-old daughter.
The lyrics of this song were birthed during her period of mourning her husband’s death. They reveal her unwavering faith during difficult times and her strong desire to trust Him more and more.
