Have you ever seen something that just tugged at your heart? Maybe it was a child who needed help or an animal in trouble.

God puts these moments right in front of us because He knows we have kind hearts that want to help.

That’s exactly what a Trooper did when she saw a fawn on a busy highway.

Trooper Haley Shreck from the Chillicothe Post found a tiny fawn curled up on the shoulder of U.S. 23 near Chillicothe on May 26. Cars and trucks rushed past the little deer just feet away. The baby was in real danger.

Shreck picked up her phone and called the Ohio Department of Natural Resources. She wanted to make sure she could move the deer without breaking any rules. The wildlife officer gave her permission to help.

“Alright, I’m gonna pick this thing up and move it to the grass cuz it’s in a really bad spot,” Shreck said. She walked slowly toward the fawn.

The little deer stayed still as she bent down and picked it up. She carried it to a safe grassy area away from the road.

“This thing is adorable!” Shreck said as she held the baby deer. The wildlife officer told her the mother deer was probably out looking for food. This happens often when deer have babies.

“Mama’s coming back, okay?” Shreck told the fawn as she set it down in the grass.

The Ohio Department of Natural Resources says white tailed deer have their babies from mid May through July.

The baby deer stay with their mothers for 10 to 12 weeks. Then they can take care of themselves.

The patrol shared the video on Facebook. They reminded people to call #677 if they see something on the road that should not be there.

This story shows us something beautiful about God’s heart. He cares about every living thing He made. When we choose to help those who cannot help themselves, we show His love to the world.

Trooper Shreck did not have to stop that day, but she chose to help the poor animal. That choice made all the difference for one little deer and reminds us that small acts of kindness matter deeply to our Creator.
