Artemis II pilot Victor Glover used his first public appearance after returning from the moon to openly praise God in front of a huge crowd in Houston.

We have all seen what many people say when they accomplish something remarkable and they step up to the microphone. They thank their team. They talk about the years of training. They point to their own hard work and dedication. And there is nothing wrong with that.
But Victor Glover did something different. This man of faith stood in front of that crowd in Houston and he knew he wasn’t there to talk about his journey to the moon. He was there to talk about his journey with God.
Glover and his crewmates — commander Reid Wiseman, mission specialist Christina Koch, and Canadian astronaut Jeremy Hansen — spoke publicly for the first time since completing NASA’s Artemis II mission. This was the first crewed flight to lunar orbit in decades. The whole world was watching. But Glover didn’t talk about himself.
“I wanted to thank God in public,” he said. “And I want to thank God again, because even bigger than my challenge trying to describe what we went through, the gratitude of seeing what we saw, doing what we did, and being with who I was with… it’s too big to just be in one body.”
Too big to be in one body. Let that sink in for a second. This man saw something out there that words couldn’t hold. And he knew exactly who to give the credit to.
And here’s the thing. This wasn’t a one-time moment for Glover. On Easter weekend, while the crew was still flying through deep space, a news anchor asked him if he had an Easter message. He had nothing prepared. But then he just started talking from his heart.
“You’re on a spaceship called Earth that was created to give us a place to live in the universe,” he said. “Just trust me. You are special in all of this emptiness.”
He also said, “Whether you celebrate it or not, whether you believe in God or not, this is an opportunity for us to remember where we are, who we are, and that we’ve got to get through this together.”
Glover went to the moon carrying more than a space mission. He carried a mission from God. He keeps using every platform, every camera, every microphone to declare the goodness of God without holding back. And that’s what God asks of all of us.
Not a quiet faith kept inside our four walls, but bold, out-loud, unashamed praise, even in front of a huge crowd.
