An elementary school teacher had her students in stitches when she pulled out not one but two hilariously corny jokes during her beloved “Joke of the Day” and honestly the whole thing is just pure joy to watch.
God gave us laughter for a reason. He didn’t have to make us capable of belly laughing over something as silly as a pun but He did. And this teacher she gets it. She has built this whole little tradition in her classroom where the pencils go down and the fun comes out.
“All right, pencil is away. It’s time for the joke of the day. Yay!” And just like that every kid in that room is dialed in ready to go.
So she hits them with the first one. “What kind of shoes do mountains wear?” And these kids they don’t even hesitate. They’re throwing out answers left and right. “Mountain racers.” “Rockman.” One kid even said “high top shoes” and got it right before she could finish building up to the punchline. Mountains wear high tops.
But here’s the thing. Her students cracked that one way too fast so she had to pull out a second joke. She warned them too. “We got a knee slapper. Get your knees out. Get your knee ready.”
Then she drops it. “How can you tell someone how you feel and what type of car you drive in one word?” The room goes dead quiet. Nobody can figure this one out. So she delivers it herself. “You say how mad a gas car.”
We need more of this in the world honestly. A teacher taking thirty seconds out of her day to make kids laugh is doing kingdom work whether she knows it or not. Joy is contagious and it starts in moments just like this one.
