U.S. Army Soldiers Perform ‘Amazing Grace’ at WWII Memorial and It Will Give You Chills

The U.S. Army’s Six-String Soldiers brought many people to tears with their heartfelt performance of ‘Amazing Grace’ at the National World War II Memorial in Washington D.C.

John Newton wrote ‘Amazing Grace’ in 1779 after God pulled him out of a life he was not proud of and the words have been carrying people ever since. So when five soldiers in uniform stood at the National World War II Memorial in Washington D.C., it felt like exactly the right song in exactly the right place.

The Six-String Soldiers are the U.S. Army’s musical ensemble. In this performance, the five members of the band showed up in full uniform with two guitarists, a fiddler, a bassist, and a vocalist.

They wrote in the video description, “On this Memorial Day, we pause to honor the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom. Here is our performance of ‘Amazing Grace’ — may it serve as a reminder that their memory lives on forever in our hearts. Please take a moment today to remember and reflect.”

On July 4, 2026, America will mark 250 years since the Declaration of Independence was signed. And ‘Amazing Grace’ reminds us of the never-ending grace of God that continues to touch lives, strengthen families, and guide this nation.

May we all remember the sacrifices of the men and women in uniform whose courage and devotion made possible the freedom we enjoy today. And let’s keep the military members who are serving right now in our prayers. May God watch over them and bless their families.
