A world famous pan flutist and an acclaimed classical musician join forces in a breathtaking instrumental rendition of Hallelujah. Backed by a full orchestra, these two master instrumentalists deliver an unforgettable performance at the Vatican in Rome.
The song Hallelujah was originally written back in 1984 by the famous Canadian singer Leonard Cohen. Now while Mr. Cohen didn’t write it as a traditional hymn, the word hallelujah itself means praise the Lord in Hebrew. It reminds us all of God’s grace in our struggles and how we must keep praising Him through every single test in this life.
The lead musician on the pan flute is Leo Rojas who came all the way from Ecuador. He actually started out as a street musician over in Spain and Germany before winning a big television talent show back in 2011.
Beside him playing the silver flute is Andrea Griminelli from Italy. Mr. Griminelli is a famous classical flutist who even won a Grammy award back in 1989 and played alongside the great Luciano Pavarotti for years.
Seeing two men from such completely different backgrounds stand side by side to make music for our Lord is just so wonderful to see.
When the music starts the guitar plays so soft and sweet. Then Leo plays his pan flute and the note sounds so pure it made my chest tighten up a little bit, it really did.
Andrea joins in with his flute and their two instruments talk to each other just like old friends sitting on the porch. The backing orchestra and the soft choir come in behind them near the middle and the whole sound just fills up the room.
