Learning CPR is one of the most practical and important skills we can ever acquire to help save lives in an emergency. So many times we adults are just lazy or too busy to take a simple class to learn what to do when someone stops breathing.

But here a little girl who has barely learned to walk is putting the rest of us to shame. It’s impossible not to smile watching her, and just as impossible not to ask yourself: if she can do it, what’s my excuse?

During a morning news broadcast on KOLO 8 Sanchez introduced the video. The footage showed the little girl in a purple sweater making her way over to a CPR training dummy lying on the floor. She put her tiny hands together on its chest and started doing chest compressions.

After the compressions she leaned down to give it breaths, just like she’d seen it done. But as she kept checking the dummy for breathing, Sanchez lost her professional news anchor voice entirely.

Sanchez started giggling and tried to apologize on air. “She is so cute…” she said as she struggled to look at her papers. The laughter completely took over the broadcast, and she had to send the show straight to a commercial break because she couldn’t stop laughing.
