Baby Cuddlers Help Babies Withdrawing From Opioids

There are lot of babies who need snuggles because of the throes of heroine withdrawal symptoms. It’s not easy to calm these babies, they cry a lot, very irritable and have other sorts of issues. It’s all the after effects of using drugs while pregnant. It leads the babies to neonatal abstinence syndrome (NAS), a collection of withdrawal symptoms. So dedicated volunteers came to tend the infants as a part of Cuddler Program. Nancy Stebler a volunteer for three years tells, it is very sad to see when the babies are in the withdrawal stage and when she cuddles the baby it will soothe them and aids in recovery. She’s held a dozens of babies over the years especially a fussy little girl stays in her mind.

Verse of the Day

Be wise in the way you act toward outsiders; make the most of every opportunity. Let your conversation be always full of grace, seasoned with salt, so that you may know how to answer everyone. — Colossians 4:5-6 (NIV)
