Two young best friends from Ohio recently shared a heartwarming reunion that has touched people all over the world.
We all know the ache of saying goodbye to a dear friend or moving to a new place. It is a comfort to know that God watches over our relationships even when we are miles apart.
These special bonds are a gift from Him that time cannot break. This is exactly what happened when two boys finally saw each other again.
Rory is 10 years old and Miles is 9 years old. They became friends back in the first grade in Geauga County. They spent their time playing baseball and video games together. About six months ago Rory and his family moved to Texas.
They talked over FaceTime, but it was not the same. They both said that nothing is better than seeing a best friend in person.
Over the Christmas holidays Rory and his family came back to visit Ohio. The two moms worked together to plan a surprise for Miles.
Jennifer Jones is the mother of Miles. She told Miles she forgot one last Christmas present in the kitchen.
Miles ran into the room and stopped when he saw Rory. He was stunned to see his friend standing there.
The two boys hugged and Miles began to cry. He said later that he was overwhelmed by happiness.
The boys had a sleepover that same night. They ate pizza and snacks and stayed up way too late.
Miles is a triplet and spends a lot of time with his brothers and sisters. His mother said Rory is his best friend outside of that family bond.
Miles has missed Rory deeply since the move. The two boys even call each other soul brothers.
Many people have watched the video of their meeting. One person said, “This is so beautiful. I hope their bond lasts a lifetime.” Rory said, “Friendship is the best thing in the world.” Miles replied, “It really is.”
