Brotherhood Musiq took a worship anthem and breathed fresh Pacific life right into it. This is their stunning Samoan version of ‘Blessed,’ and it will definitely lift your spirit.

If you are not familiar with them yet, Brotherhood Musiq is an incredibly gifted R&B and soul group based in South Auckland, New Zealand. Their inspiring journey actually began back in high school, where AJ Pualau and Junior Tuiloma first started singing together. AJ’s brother Harry Pualau joined soon after. What started as simple jam sessions quickly blossomed into a last-minute wedding gig, local shows, and church performances.
The group carries deep Samoan roots and wears their heritage proudly. They took home the 2025 Best Pacific Gospel Artist award at the Pacific Music Awards for their moving version of ‘Open The Eyes Of My Heart‘ and were finalists again this year. Now they are back doing what they do best, revisiting the Hillsong classics they grew up on and blending Polynesian gospel harmonies effortlessly with songs that speak straight to the soul.
Their YouTube channel’s bio reads, “Just 3 boys on a journey. Making music, making memories, and giving God all the glory along the way.” What a beautiful mission.
The song “Blessed” was originally written in 2002 by Darlene Zschech and Reuben Morgan for Hillsong. It reminds us that when we seek God, we are constantly surrounded by His peace, knowing we are safe in His hands no matter what the world throws our way.
These three men performed it with such heart, moving seamlessly between the English and Samoan versions. Their voices blended so perfectly, and it led us right into worship.
Maybe that’s the gift of a song like this. It doesn’t matter what language we sing it in. The same God hears every word and holds every one of us close.
“Oh, sing to the LORD a new song! Sing to the LORD, all the earth.” Psalm 96:1
