Chick-Fil-A Manager Fixes 96-Year-Old WWII Veteran’s Flat Tire

Chick-fil-A is a company known to sell chicken with a side of God. It is one of the most successful food chains in the US, and its employees are never shy to exhibit their Christian values. So when a manager at their Maryland outlet saw one of their regular customers needing help, he didn’t hesitate to help him.

Daryl Howard was busy taking orders at the Chick-fil-A restaurant in Severn when a 96-year-old WWII veteran, known as Mr. Lee, came up to him and told him he had a flat tire. “He was shaking, almost in tears saying he barely made it to the store on three tires because one was bad,” Rudy Somoza, another manager, said.

Chick-fil-A Tire Change

Lee had managed to park his car, but needed someone to help change his flat tire. “As soon as he finished his sentence, Daryl informed me he needed to help this gentleman right now,” Somoza said. “So, Daryl jumped into action without hesitation.”

In 15 minutes, Howard had changed the tire, but did not know that Somoza was filming him during the episode. Somoza said he’s worked with Howard for about five years. “His action of kindness was beautiful. Daryl has always been so helpful to anyone in need and deserves this recognition,” Somoza said.

A grateful Lee visited the restaurant again later to express his appreciation. We admire what Howard from Chick-fil-A did for the old gentleman as he went above and beyond to help him.
