Man Who Walked 3 Hours To His Workplace Is Gifted A Car By The Community

Some people like to make a pity-party of their life situation, so that they draw the sympathy of people, and get help from them.

And then there are some like Isaac Saul Mettle Jr. who despite being in hard times, never make it a big deal and calmly go about their work.

He is a Salisbury man who has been in the limelight recently, thanks to the efforts being taken by Patrick Adkins and other hundreds of people in the community.

Adkins says of Isaac, that they have seen how hard he works and never seems to complain to anyone about his situation.

Mettle’s scooter had broken down 6 months ago, and now the only way to get to his Texas Roadhouse job from his Nanticoke Road residence was by foot, which was a daily commute of more than a ten mile trek.

His Texas Roadhouse co-workers saw his persevering spirit and wanted to help him out, so they started a GoFundMe page to help him out.

However, things did not change until the Worcester County Sheriff’s Office noted his dedication.

The post on Facebook has gone viral and people are donating towards Mettle in a big way and Adkins has presented a car to Mettle, and says he will take care of the repairs and maintenance as long as he can.

This is the love and service of a community towards one of their own and we admire them for their generosity to help someone in need.

Verse of the Day

“[Obedience by Faith] If someone says, “I love God,” and hates his brother, he is a liar; for he who does not love his brother whom he has seen, how can he love God whom he has not seen? And this commandment we have from Him: that he who loves God must love his brother also.”

1 John 4:20-21
