A five-year-old Siberian Husky slipped out of her backyard and trotted herself all the way to her dog daycare in Regina, Saskatchewan, Canada, navigating busy roads entirely on her own.

Dogs are remarkably clever creatures. They memorize the routes we walk with them, they recognize the turns we take, and they remember the places that bring them joy.
Anyone who has owned a dog knows they start pulling the leash the moment they recognize the path to the park or the vet. God designed these animals with an incredible instinct to find their way. And Missy proved it right.
Missy the Siberian Husky attends Spot’s Place Dog Daycare in Regina five days a week. Her owner’s husband bikes her there along the same route every single day. But on April 13, Missy was supposed to stay home. She had a vet appointment and was taking the day off.
She had other plans.
Missy squeezed under the backyard fence and made the 10-to-15-minute walk to daycare all by herself. Staff spotted her on their security camera running across the parking lot. And the route she took? It ran along a busy service road near Victoria Avenue East — heavy traffic territory.
“We let Missy in. Biggest smile on her face. She was so proud of herself, so happy to be here,” said Mackenzie Hoffman, the front desk lead at Spot’s Place.
Owner Kimberly Hrappstead was shocked when she got the call. “It’s just miraculous that nothing happened and it was as positive a situation as you could have,” she said. “I certainly don’t condone dogs escaping yards and going out on journeys by themselves, but we are so thankful.”
Staff said they’d never seen anything like it. “Dogs get out, they escape, they run around. I have never had one come back to a specific place. I believe she must feel safe here,” said Jordan Feicht, a rover at Spot’s Place.
