Country star Eric Church was the leading performer at the Route 91 Harvest Festival just two days before the Las Vegas tragedy. After the incident, he happened to see an interview on CNN. It was then Church heard about Sonny Melton, who lost his life during mass shooting. Sonny’s wife, Heather spoke of how her husband was a huge Eric Church fan and they attended the event all weekend. They even had plans to see the superstar at the Grand Ole Opry few days after the festival, but that never happened. Church was heartbroken after hearing the interview. He put her emotions into a song and wrote ‘Why Not Me’. Church dedicated his song to Sonny. Now, he is performing it for the first time at the Opry and reserving 2 seats for Heather and Sonny. Let’s continue our prayers for all of those effected by these tragic event.

Verse of the Day
“And when he had gathered all the chief priests and scribes of the people together, he inquired of them where the Christ was to be born. So they said to him, “In Bethlehem of Judea, for thus it is written by the prophet: ‘But you, Bethlehem, in the land of Judah, Are not the least among the rulers of Judah; For out of you shall come a Ruler Who will shepherd My people Israel.’ ””
