A 73-year-old man who jumped into a pond of water in China to save a drowning toddler who had fallen into it is being praised online and called a ‘hero.’
The elderly grandfather suffers from weak legs but that didn’t stop him from responding to the desperate pleas for help from a helpless little girl who would have drowned in the water that was more than 6-feet deep.
The little 1-year-old girl was struggling in the water and her elder brother alerted the grandpa who was working nearby and he got up and immediately took action. Praise the Lord!
We believe God placed that compassionate grandpa there at the right time because He knows the end from the beginning and knew that this was going to happen.
Isaiah 46:10, “I make known the end from the beginning, from ancient times, what is still to come. I say, ‘My purpose will stand, and I will do all that I please.’”
God fulfilled His purpose of keeping that grandfather close by to where the girl was drowning and he jumped in the cold water without wasting a minute.
The freezing cold water was too much for the old man who sat down in it after saving the girl and that’s when other bystanders came running to help him get out of it.
The internet is hailing the grandfather as a hero and his community members are also praising him, but he is modest when asked why he did it, “I was the only person there. If I hadn’t gone to rescue her who would?” the man said.
We praise God that the elderly grandpa and little girl are safe and sound after a check-up at the hospital. What a selfless act of kindness by this elderly man who helped the little girl in need. Let us also learn to be the hands and feet of Jesus in this world and help others in need.
