Actress Candace Cameron Bure shared her powerful approach to handling rejection during her career and life.
We all face moments when doors slam shut in our faces. Those “no” responses can sting and make us want to give up. But God often uses these closed doors to redirect us toward something better.
Candace knows this feeling well. In a recent YouTube video, she talked about the many times people rejected her ideas.
Instead of walking away defeated, she found creative ways around those obstacles. “We have figured out solutions to a lot of nos in my life and my career,” she said.
“And so, people have shut that door and said, ‘No, that would never work. We’ve never done that before.’ And we come back and go, ‘Great, you’ve never done that before. Let us show you a way in which we can do that.'”
Her response surprised many people. When told something had never been done, Candace saw opportunity instead of defeat. She and her team used those rejections as fuel to prove wrong thinking could change.
The actress reminded viewers that human limits don’t apply to God. People might say our plans won’t work, but God specializes in impossible situations.
“And so, it’s a good lesson for all of you guys,” she said. “Don’t take a no at face value, and if someone tells you, like, ‘No, it’s never been done.’ Well, it doesn’t mean God can’t do that for you, and God can’t do it differently through you.”
Candace’s faith drives her persistence. She believes God can work through anyone to accomplish things that seem impossible. When others see roadblocks, she sees God preparing to show His power.
Her story reminds us that rejection isn’t the end of our story. God might be closing one door to open another we never considered. The next time someone tells us “no,” we can remember that God’s “yes” might be just around the corner.
Trust Him to make a way where there seems to be no way.
