A young Los Angeles worship collective called HVN & ERTH performs a moving rendition of the classic Christian song ‘You Are My All In All.’
HVN & ERTH is a Christian worship ministry started by college students in Los Angeles who just want to exalt Jesus. They bring together musical backgrounds like R&B gospel jazz and classical to create something really special for the church.
The group has seen huge success with their debut EP called IN THE BEGINNING… and their recent videos are pulling in hundreds of thousands of views online because people are just so hungry for authentic worship.
They chose to sing a true classic for this particular video. Dennis Jernigan wrote “You Are My All In All” back in 1989 when he was just sitting at his piano praying for people and remembering what the Lord had done for him. The words came to him right then and it has been touching hearts ever since.
The message of this timeless song hits close to home for all of us today. It reminds us that when we feel empty and lost Jesus is our true treasure. He gives us strength when we are weak and he willingly takes away our shame. When we fall down he is the one who gently picks us up and fills our cup again.
Watching this gentle performance gave me goosebumps right from the start. I felt so much peace washing over me as I listened to their young voices. It is so beautiful seeing a brand new generation praising the Lord so faithfully and keeping these older songs alive.
Because these lyrics are incredible faith statements, we can hold onto them every day. We hear them declare “Taking my sin, my cross, my shame / Rising again I bless Your name” which is the very core of our Christian belief. Dennis Jernigan once said about writing songs that his ability to write music allowed him “to express my heart and feelings in song” and you can really feel that same pure heart in this modern performance.
