Siblings Sing Beautiful Cover Of ‘Tis So Sweet To Trust In Jesus’

The Jost siblings, Amy-Joy, Hannah-Grace and Judah Jost from Alberta, Canada sing a beautiful cover of ‘Tis So sweet.’ The classic song was written by Louisa M. Stead in 1882.

Louisa was born in 1850 in Dover, England and moved to Cincinnati, Ohio, in 1871. While attending a camp meeting in Urbana, Ohio, she committed her life to serving as a missionary.

She got married in 1875, and had a little girl, Lily. When Lily was just 4 years old, her parents took her for a beach picnic at Long Island Sound in New York. While having lunch, they heard a drowning boy cry for help. Mr. Stead jumped into the water to save him, but the struggling boy pulled Mr. Stead under water with him and both drowned with Louisa and Lily watching. She wrote the song during the next two years as she mourned the loss of her husband and was asking God why.

‘Tis so sweet to trust in Jesus,
Just to take Him at His Word
Just to rest upon His promise,
Just to know, “Thus saith the Lord!”

Jesus, Jesus, how I trust Him!
How I’ve proved Him o’er and o’er
Jesus, Jesus, precious Jesus!
Oh, for grace to trust Him more!

Yes, it’s true that only Jesus can comfort us and give us rest from all our problems and troubles in life. If today you are mourning about something, then turn it over to Jesus and take comfort from the rest He gives you.
