‘Jesus Wasn’t This Religious Elite, He Found Me In My Dirt’: Justin Bieber Shares About His Faith In Jesus

“Jesus wasn’t this religious elite… He was in the dirt. He found me in my dirt, and pulled me out.” That was a powerful statement from Justin Bieber in a recent interview about his rekindled faith in Jesus Christ.

Justin Bieber was speaking in a new interview while promoting the release of his new album “Changes.” He talked about many things like “turning away from sin,” his reliance on grace, the influence of Christian mentors, his love for Hailey Bieber his wife, and how he believes Jesus saved him.

When he was asked to talk about the turning point in his faith, Bieber said that the Bible calls for “obedience” and “turning away from sin”: “I really took a deep dive in my faith. I believed in Jesus but I never really, like, when it says following Jesus is actually turning away from sin … what it talks about it in the Bible is that there’s no faith without obedience.”

Bieber, 25, said he believed in the Bible but “never really implemented it” in his own life. He said he believes Jesus Christ was misunderstood: “Jesus wasn’t this religious elite guy … he was in the dirt, and he found me in my dirt and pulled me out.”

When he was asked about what type of parent he wants to be, Bieber said he wanted to be led by God, “When you accept Jesus, he says that now you walk with the Holy Spirit. So, I think I just want to be led by the Holy Spirit.”

Justin Bieber got sentimental talking about the pain in the world, and said, “The pain in the world is just so, it’s obvious. And people are looking for hope, and they’re looking for a way out, and they’re looking for an escape, and they’re looking for truth … I’ve gotten the opportunity with my journey to just see a God who accepts me, loves me. They call him the savior, and I believe that to be true — that Jesus saved me.”
