A video of a man singing ‘Amazing Grace’ to a donkey at an Ohio sanctuary for rescued donkeys is going viral.
The man can be seen hugging the donkey around its neck as he sings the popular Christian hymn, ‘Amazing Grace,’ to which the donkey listens delightfully.
Originating from the slave trade era, the hymn ‘Amazing Grace,’ written by John Newton, has profoundly touched many lives since its inception. Its impact extends even to animals, as demonstrated in the video.
The donkey was redeemed by the owner from its burdensome and undignified life, and now enjoys a life of freedom and love. Just as Jesus Christ has redeemed us from our old sinful selves and made us right with God the Father.
‘Amazing Grace’ is a Christian hymn like no other. It continues to remind all believers of our wretched past and God’s redemptive love, while also comforting us with the promise of eternal life, filled with endless praise.
It is heart-warming to see a lovely couple committed to the welfare of an animal such as the donkey, otherwise known only for hard labour and its stubbornness, treated with love and affection.
