A small plane crash-landed on a car on a busy highway in Florida, and what happened next was nothing short of a miracle.

Sometimes we go about our day with our plans all set, and then we realize God has a different plan. Annie and Bernard Wigley were driving their daughter to the airport that Monday evening. They had no idea they were about to witness a miracle and become part of it.
The Wigleys are pastors at Thy Kingdom Come ministries in Melbourne. They were traveling on Interstate 95 in Brevard County around 5:45 p.m. Then Annie saw something strange in the sky.
At first, she thought it was a drone or maybe a helicopter flying too low. But it was a small plane, and it was coming down fast.
The Beechcraft 55 plane made an emergency landing right on the highway. It struck a 2023 Toyota Camry during rush hour traffic. The Wigleys pulled over right away.
Annie is a nurse, and her daughter is too. They both ran across the lanes to reach the damaged car.
“It was awful. I absolutely expected to see someone that was either bleeding or possibly even dead,” Annie said.
The car looked terrible. Pastor Bernard said the entire vehicle was crushed except for one spot. “The car was totaled except the driver’s seat. That was the only part. I mean, the car was crushed,” he explained.
Annie and her daughter struggled to open the car door. When they finally got it open, they found a 57-year-old woman inside. She was dazed but alive.
Brevard County Fire Rescue took her to the hospital. She had only minor injuries.
The plane had two people on board. The pilot was a 27-year-old man from Orlando. His passenger was also 27 and from Temple Terrace. Neither of them got hurt.
Pastor Bernard recorded video at the scene. You can hear him saying, “Everybody is fine. Even the pilot for the plane is still sitting in the pilot seat.”
Officials said the pilot had to make an emergency landing because the engine failed. He brought the plane down on a packed highway during evening rush hour.
Pastor Bernard thought about how much worse it could have been. The plane could have hit multiple cars. There could have been an explosion from the fuel. Instead, only one vehicle was struck, and everyone survived.
“That could have been total destruction, total destruction. That could have been 12 to 15 cars. There could have been fire from the fuel of the plane and total chaos like something you see in a movie,” Pastor Bernard said.
But none of that happened. The pilot controlled the plane enough to avoid hitting multiple vehicles. The woman in the car survived even though her vehicle was destroyed all around her. The two men in the plane walked away without a scratch.
Annie knew right away this was more than luck. “I knew it was God that saved her absolutely, even the two pilots that landed and only hit the one car. I knew God was in control,” she said.
Annie was clear about who deserved the credit. “I give God all the credit and thanks because he preserved life that day, and it was a miracle. It was truly a miracle.”
The Wigleys said they had been praying while driving to the airport that evening. They believe God heard those prayers and protected everyone on that highway.
The Federal Aviation Administration is now looking into what caused the crash.
This miraculous story shows us how God’s hand works in moments where we cannot do anything on our own.
The plane was out of control and could have hit many cars or taken many lives. But instead, the pastors saw the power of a simple prayer right in front of their eyes.
Wherever you go and whatever you do, start with prayer. God truly fights battles we cannot see.
“Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might. Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil… praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit.” (Ephesians 6:10–18)
If this story encouraged you, share it with someone today and remind them that prayer still matters.
