Police Officer Goes Above And Beyond To Keep A Man Warm And Dry From Cold

A heartfelt message by the Thomasville Police Department encouraging people to do good to others is going viral after their own officers put it into practice.

On Monday afternoon, the department shared the act of kindness Officer Bryan Williams did. TPD said Officer Williams bought a citizen a tent from out of pocket. He did it because he wanted the man to be warm and dry from the cold and rainy weather.

“Every one of us has the potential to do something meaningful for someone else. It doesn’t have to be expensive, it doesn’t have to be extravagant,” TPD wrote in the Facebook post. “A gift, an act of service, a kind word. It just comes from the heart.”

The police department posted about it to encourage the community to think about how they can give back to someone in need. This post has been shared and commented on hundreds of times, “The citizen gave us permission to post this photo to inspire others to think, “what can I do?” the department wrote. “The desire to serve is at the heart of policing.”

Verse of the Day

“[The Day of the Lord] But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night, in which the heavens will pass away with a great noise, and the elements will melt with fervent heat; both the earth and the works that are in it will be burned up. Therefore, since all these things will be dissolved, what manner of persons ought you to be in holy conduct and godliness,”
