A BBC news presenter named Martine Croxall made headlines when she corrected herself on live television, changing “pregnant people” to “women.”

You know how it feels when you see something that goes against what God clearly designed. Evil has blinded so many people that they can’t see the simple truth anymore.

When that happens, we have to decide if we’ll stay quiet or speak up for what’s right. That’s exactly what happened to Martine Croxall that day on live television.

Croxall was reading the news on Saturday about dangerous heat and health risks. She started to share research from London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine about heat deaths in the UK.

“London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine has released research which says that nearly 600 heat-related deaths are expected in the U.K.,” she told viewers.

Then came the moment that changed everything. “Malcolm Mistry, who was involved in the research, says that the aged, pregnant people — women,” she said, stopping to make the correction with a warm smile.

She then finished her report: “And those with pre-existing health conditions need to take precautions.”

The clip spread like wildfire across social media. Harry Potter author J.K. Rowling shared the video and wrote: “I have a new favourite BBC presenter.” Other people praised Croxall for using common sense.

The BBC backed their presenter completely. The term “pregnant people” came from the research study itself, not from BBC writers.

Martine’s courage to correct the wrong description live on air touched hearts around the world. One person wrote, “The fact that we’re even having this type of discussion shows how far society has degenerated.”

Another person wrote, “A shout out for common sense. Well done Martine.”

This story reminds us that this world needs Jesus more than ever. Our homes need to be places where His truth lives.

Parents, teach your children the way they should go. They need your love, care and guidance rooted in scripture.

As adults, we have to speak up when it matters. We must hold tight to our values, even when it feels scary.
