A teacher with a heart of gold is winning many hearts online.
LaShonda Carter, a teacher in Chicago at Excel Academy decided to put up a Facebook live video entitled “The Heart of an Educator.”
Addressing herself as a parent, she tells parents to sit down with their children’s school teacher at the beginning of the school year itself.
She encourages parents to keep a flow of communication between themselves and the teacher, so that they will be aware of any struggle the student may be facing.
In part 2 of the series, Carter has a very special guest who is just five weeks old.
It’s not her baby but that of a former student, Carter’s heart of gold was revealed, when she told her followers that she dropped everything, and was babysitting, so that the mother could attend a job fair.
She also urged her followers to donate clothes and baby items to that needy mama and baby.
She has also asked them to fund the GoFundMe campaign that she started for them.
