A classroom of fifth graders was stumped when their teacher asked them a clever joke about a rich bird, but their answers still brought a lot of laughter.
Everyday, teachers go beyond lessons and books to create moments that help kids think, laugh, and connect. A simple joke or a quick game can turn into a memory that stays for years.
In one classroom, a teacher found a fun way to bring smiles by asking her students a playful riddle about a rich bird.
The short video starts with the teacher telling her students, “Pencils away, it’s time for the joke of the day.” She asks them, “What do you call a rich bird?”
The students jump right in with their guesses. One student says, “Richard.” Another one tries, “A Richin, like a pigeon.” A third student guesses, “Robin because he’s robbing banks.”
They even suggest funny ideas like “Jeff Bezos” and “Blue Jonaire,” mixing a blue jay and a millionaire. The teacher listens and laughs with them, enjoying their creative answers. Finally, she gives the punchline: “An ostrich.”
The whole class bursts out laughing at the unexpected answer.
