Woman Trapped In Overturned Car Was Screaming And Crying Until God Sent Her Help

This woman trapped in her overturned car was extremely grateful to the kind stranger who helped her after meeting an accident in Oxford, Massachusetts, a few days back.

Yata Yeawolo dropped off her 3-year-old son at daycare when her car turned around on route 56, crossed lanes, and landed outside down in a ditch; she told 7NEWS. Her car was resting on its front bumper, upside down in the ditch. “It just happened so fast. It just lost control and went boom! Into the ditch,” she said.

Dylan Dauphinee, our Good Samaritan, was on his way to work on the same route. “It rained very briefly for about 10-15 minutes,” he recalled. “I don’t know what happened. Everything was just a skating rink of ice.” Dylan slowed down to avoid danger, and he saw Yata’s vehicle. “I saw this poor woman’s silver Camry upside down, about 10 feet in a ditch, lying vertical,” he described.

“Nobody could hear me screaming on top of my lungs, I was crying, I had no help, and I’m facing down, by car is up in a tree,” the frightened woman said. The kind stranger approached the car to check if someone was trapped. To his surprise, he saw a woman inside.

“I pressed my hand against the glass, and Dylan said, ‘Hey, are you okay?’ And she just looked at me, and I remember her eyes and her hair dangling over because she’s hung upside down, and she said, ‘I’m okay, I’m okay.'”

“Yelling, ‘Is anybody alive? Is anybody alive?’ And I’m like, ‘Help! I’m here,” she recalled. “He couldn’t hear and came to the front side and said, ‘Are you alive?’ I said, ‘Yes,’ and he said, ‘Oh thank God, she’s alive!”

The Good Samaritan called 911. The firefighters found her car, broke the windshield, and pulled her out to safety.

However, she did not know the man’s identity. A reunion was arranged since she wanted to hug him. Dylan was also thrilled to see her again. “It was really tough today,” he said. “I have a daughter and a wife; I couldn’t imagine my wife hanging there thinking, ‘Can somebody find me?’”

This mom of three thanked her hero, and she knew that “I would have been dead. I’m not supposed to be alive right now.” She added that “God sent you [Dylan] to rescue me.”

God is indeed sovereign! He knows how to get us out of precarious situations. If one will take a closer look, the sticker “Jesus loves you” was on the hood of Yata’s car. He indeed made His love tangible to her by sending an “angel in disguise.”

“So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.” Isaiah 41:10
