A comedian got the whole audience laughing when he told them about the very first thing his wife did right after they got married, and honestly, it’s something most married couples will totally get.
Jeff Allen, a Christian comedian who’s been making people laugh for years, shared this short bit about life with his wife. And it’s so good. He told the crowd that the moment they got married, his wife took his spine. Not literally, of course. But you get the idea.
“First thing she did when we got married was take my spine away from me,” he said. “She did. She keeps it in her purse.” And then he added, “It’s handy in case I have to do something manly.”
Now here’s where it gets really funny. Jeff said she only gives it back when there’s trouble. Like at three in the morning when she hears a weird noise downstairs.
“3 o’clock in the morning, ‘I heard a noise. Here’s your spine. Go down and see what it was,'” he said. And Jeff? He’s not thrilled about it. “I hate that wakeup call,” he admitted.
His thinking was pretty simple. “Well, if you were sleeping, you wouldn’t have heard it. So go back to sleep.”
But he kept going. He figured whoever was down there was probably trying to stay quiet anyway. “He’ll probably apologize for waking us up,” Jeff joked. And then came the best part.
Jeff said his wife should really be the one going downstairs. Because if that intruder tracked mud on her new hardwood floor? “She’d rip his thyroid out.”
