The Brothers In Black sing a soul-stirring cover of the classic hymn ‘I’ll Fly Away.’

Many Christian songs today focus on creating a worship atmosphere and stirring emotion. But much of old-time Christian music was not written just for a Sunday service. It was centered on the gospel that transforms lives and guides them.
Old Christian hymns were built on truth, rooted in Scripture, and written by people who understood suffering and hope in their own lives. They don’t try to impress. They just tell the gospel plain and simple. That is why they continue to speak to the hearts of millions of people and give them hope.
The trio takes on the arrangement made popular by the film O Brother, Where Art Thou? but puts their own spin on it. One brother plays a bright yellow electric guitar. Another handles the acoustic. And the third holds down rhythm on a big stand-up bass. They’re dressed in cowboy hats and vintage outfits, looking like they stepped right out of a classic western. Their bond is visible in their amazing harmonies.
‘I’ll Fly Away’ was written by Albert E. Brumley back in 1929, and it remains one of the most recorded gospel songs ever. Its message gives us pure joy and hope. It speaks of a “bright morning when this life is over” and the promise of flying away to “God’s celestial shore,” where “joy will never end.” Almost a hundred years later, those words still carry the same weight. This world is not our final home.
Performances like this do more than entertain us. They remind us of the hope we carry. Our struggles here are real, but they are temporary. What waits for us in glory is forever. If your day needs a lift, give this one a watch.
