Roseann Sdoia, a Boston bombing survivor is giving her life to the man who saved it. Sdoia was waiting for her friends at the marathon finish line when the tragedy struck. However a stranger saved her life.
Mike Materia, a firefighter, found Sdoia on the ground. He swept her off the sidewalk and transported her to the hospital, he comforted her all the way. She had severe injuries and that left her right leg amputated. Sdoia and Materia became friends, and soon they fell into romance.
In December 2016, Materia proposed her with a little help from their dog. The couple plans to wed in October or November and they are set to release a book named perfect strangers.
