Across the course of history, music has been shown to bring healing and therapy to people. Now a cellist is playing on the war-torn streets of Ukraine in a moment that is so powerful.

The once beautiful and bustling streets of Ukraine are now empty and desolate, as millions of Ukrainians have fled their homes into neighboring countries to escape the barbaric assault by the Russian army.

At this time it is unimaginable to hear the sound of music flooding the empty streets of this country, but recently a cello player was filmed sitting on a chair in the middle of the street playing a haunting piece of music by Bach.

The video was shared on social media by the cellist who goes by the name Akustikos Art Goup who plays Bach via the Cello in C five minor. It is such a paradox to hear such beautiful music amid a heap of ruins, the only other sound that can be heard is of a passing car and the wind.

The cellist writes underneath the video, “We’ve all been at war for a month now. War is terrible, but we must not be afraid because the truth is on our side, and each of us can help in this struggle, in his own place. And it is especially important who is next to you.” He adds his gratitude and wrote, “I hug and thank those close people who made our project possible, Anna Kolomiytseva, Oleksandr Osipov Photography, God bless you!”

At such a time, people including strong believers in Christ are asking, “Where is God?” He is always there with us and will always be. His plan is not for our destruction but for our good. He has given each of us a free will to choose what we want to do with our lives and we must wisely decide to do good and not evil.

This video has received more than 4,000 views after it was posted with many commenting on it for God to bless the people of Ukraine and rescue them from the evil they are facing.

Let us continue to pray for the Ukrainians and their President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and his wife and children that God may continue to protect and provide for all their needs. We also remember the displaced families all over, may they find peace and comfort wherever they are.
