Every friend group has a troublemaker, but this one has four legs and a long snout. When staff at an Arkansas pet care facility checked their cameras, they saw a hilarious dog daycare breakout unfolding right in their hallway.
Chloe Joy is a known offender at Hounds Hideaway. The clever hound dog has a reputation for being the mastermind of the pack, and she comes in like a wrecking ball in everything she does. She noticed an unlocked gate one afternoon and zeroed right in on it. With a quick push of her nose, she swung the gate wide open and casually walked out into the hall. The rest of the dogs just followed her lead.
We see a lot of animal videos, but there is something so deeply funny about how she just wanders out without looking back. She didn’t even check to see if the others were coming because she already knew they would.
Why did she do it? Staff member Lacey thinks it was all about food. “She zoned in on that gate and knew that the lock was not on there, and that big long hound nose just open and was like, Let’s go, there’s Chick-fil-A, let’s go,” Lacey explained to The Dodo. The other dogs had no idea what the plan was. As Lacey joked, they looked like they were thinking, “Oh cool, where are we going, this one’s fun, let’s go, is it time to go home, is my mom here, what are you doing, do you work here now?”
Look at the confused faces of those other dogs standing out in the hallway. We have all been that friend who blindly follows someone else just hoping they know where they are going.
You might think a dog who constantly breaks rules would get in trouble. But the staff completely adores her. They have caught her letting friends out of timeout before, but they just embrace her mischievous spirit. “She definitely feels like she’s one of our own, and that’s part of why when she runs down the hallway, we don’t have any qualms about scooping her up and taking her back to class,” Lacey said. “She’s just literally such a joy, chloe Joy.” They even crowned her prom queen at a recent doggy prom.
The video went viral, and people loved her attitude. One viewer pointed out how relatable the whole situation is, writing, “Every friend group needs one criminal mastermind.” Another commenter simply asked, “What made you smile more, Chloe’s gate opening skills or the whole furry gang following along?”
