Dying Dad Has Emotional First Dance With Daughter At Her Wedding

One of the most important events in a wedding reception is the bride’s first dance with her father in front of her husband and wedding guests. It is a highly emotional dance and the time and is cherished by the father and daughter.

Mary Bourne Butts was not sure her dying father would make it to her December 29th wedding because her dad, Jim Roberts was diagnosed in May 2017, with glioblastoma, an incurable brain cancer. He was placed into hospice care shortly before the wedding.

But thankfully he was able to be there at his daughter’s wedding and also was able to get onto the dance floor. Even though Roberts is bound to a wheelchair, they both danced to the classic country song ‘I Hope You Dance’ from LeeAnn Womack with Mary twirling him all around and sharing a tender moment with her dad.

Verse of the Day

“[Pray for All Men] Therefore I exhort first of all that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks be made for all men, for kings and all who are in authority, that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and reverence.”

1 Timothy 2:1-2
