Veteran’s Family Reunites With Lost Purple Heart After 50 Years

When the retired plumber Joseph “Dusty” Ridlon spotted the Purple Heart on the street in his New York neighborhood. He brought the Military medal to the local American Legion Post who then informed the U.S. Senator Chuck Schumer’s office. After hours of searching, they finally found the daughter of  Sergeant McNamara and safely handed over the medal to her. The kindness of one stranger has brought back the treasure of a family.
