Grandma Breaks Down In Tears When Family Surprises Her With New Dog After Hers Dies

A North Carolina grandmother got a sweet surprise when she received a new pup while she was staying at a health facility.
84 year old Shirley Lann, had just lost her dog, Kinsey, after being 14 years together. She used to spend almost all her time with the dog that she shared with her late husband, who died in 2011.

Lann’s grandson, Matthew McVey said “My grandma has been pretty upset about the whole thing.” “We realized her mood had changed.”

Lann’s daughter then started searching for a new dog to help brighten up her mood. As soon as she found “Sammy” at a local shelter she knew he was ‘the one’.

Sammy is a Lhasa Apso, and a video of the moment when Sammy is gifted to Lann and she holds the pup tightly is so adorable.

It was a complete surprise,” McVey said. “It has brightened her mood and gives her something to look forward to when she gets out of rehab.”

Lann will be going home next week and will be reunited with her new beloved pup.

“She thinks he’s adorable,” McVey said. “She can’t wait for him to live with him.”

It’s so true that dogs are really a man’s best friend.

Verse of the Day

“[The Day of the Lord] But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night, in which the heavens will pass away with a great noise, and the elements will melt with fervent heat; both the earth and the works that are in it will be burned up. Therefore, since all these things will be dissolved, what manner of persons ought you to be in holy conduct and godliness,”

2 Peter 3:10-11
