Many of us know what it feels like to stand at a graveside and not know what to say. But some songs speak better than our words because they are truth from the scripture. They give us hope and assurance that death is not the end but a beginning.

The video shows the men standing near gravestones in formal clothes. One man held a guitar and played while the other two stood close by him. They sang ‘I’ll Fly Away’ a gospel song written by Albert E. Brumley back in 1929.

The hymn talks about leaving this world’s troubles behind and finding rest with God and it has comforted families for almost a hundred years now.

The brothers were asked to sing this exact song at the funeral. It was their mother’s favorite hymn and their late cousin loved it too so it carried extra weight that day.

The men are Dwayne and Wayne Haneline, identical twin brothers from North Carolina. Both are Vietnam veterans and now in their 70s. They are known online for sharing wholesome moments of faith and family. This time though the moment was personal.

“For I know that if my earthly house, this tent, is destroyed, I have a building from God, a house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens” (2 Corinthians 5:1, NKJV).

Losing someone we love is never easy. But songs like this one remind us that death isn’t the final word. We will see our loved ones again someday. Let’s keep this family in our prayers as they grieve their cousin. God bless them.
