how great thou art live performance

The hymn “How Great Thou Art” is based on an original Swedish hymn entitled “O store Gud” written by Carl Boberg in 1885.The English translation was made by the English Missionary Stuart K Hine in 1949. The hymn was popularized by George Beverly Shea and Cliff Barrows during the Billy Graham crusades.

O Lord my God, when I in awesome wonder
Consider all the works Thy hands have made,
I see the stars, I hear the rolling thunder,
Thy pow’r thru-out the universe displayed!

Then sings my soul, my Savior God, to Thee;
How great Thou art, how great Thou art!
Then sings my soul, my Savior God, to Thee;
How great Thou art, how great Thou art!

When Christ shall come with shout of acclamation
And take me home, what joy shall fill my heart!
Then I shall bow in humble adoration
And there proclaim, my God, how great Thou art!

The writer, Carl Boberg shared an inspirational backstory of the hymn, “It was that time of year when everything seemed to be in its richest colouring; the birds were singing in trees and everywhere. It was very warm; a thunderstorm appeared on the horizon and soon there was thunder and lightning. We had to hurry to shelter. But the storm was soon over and the clear sky appeared. When I came home I opened my window toward the sea. There evidently had been a funeral and the bells were playing the tune of “When eternity’s clock calls my saved soul to its Sabbath rest”. That evening, I wrote the song, “O Store Gud”.

The music video has been recorded LIVE after two years of planning and amidst all threats and dangers of war and sickness. “My hope is that you will be blessed as you hear these songs recorded LIVE that memorable evening. In the midst of the chaos around the world, I pray you see Yeshua, the Risen Savior, Messiah, King of all, and feel the sense of reality that He was, He is and He soon will come again. Amen,” Joshua Aaron wrote.

The heavens declare the glory of God; And the firmament shows His handiwork. Day unto day utters speech, And night unto night reveals knowledge. There is no speech nor language Where their voice is not heard. Psalms 19:1‭-‬3 (NKJV)
