Jesse Findling who once feared speaking because of a stutter, stunned judges with a moving performance during American Idol audition.

Jesse is a 19-year-old college student who has had a stutter since he was a little kid. It was really hard on him. He felt embarrassed in elementary school and he would never raise his hand because he didn’t want people to laugh. He felt like he had to hide.
But when he started singing with his brother and sister, everything changed. The stutter just melts away when he sings. Jesse said singing is “freeing” and it was an outlet for him when he was little. It is still an outlet for him today.
Jesse, who once feared standing in front of his classroom, stepped onto the stage of one of the biggest shows, American Idol. He sang ‘In The Stars’ by Benson Boone for the judges. Benson Boone wrote this song in 2022 after his great-grandmother died.
This song is special for Jesse and his family because that’s the song he sings a lot with his brother, who also has a stutter. Jesse really wanted to be a role model for him.
The judges were totally amazed. Luke Bryan said, “I don’t think I blinked one time,” and told Jesse he was a real singer. Carrie Underwood said his voice was beautiful and that he was in the song emotionally.
Lionel Richie told him he didn’t have a problem at all. He got a Golden Ticket to Hollywood. Jesse said it was “proof that everything’s working out how it should” because he was thinking of his younger self who was too scared to even speak in class.
This story should remind us that no obstacle is too big for the Lord to handle. If you are struggling with some kind of fears today, submit it to the hands of the Lord. He’ll carry what you cannot, strengthen you where you feel weak, and help you find your true purpose in life.
