Marleen Brooks, 39 year old woman found a letter in her mailbox, it read “Would you consider to become my friend. I’m 90 years old – live alone and all my friends have passed away. I am so lonesome and scared. Please – I pray for someone.” . The heart-wrenching note had been sent by a lonely elderly woman, Wanda Mills who lived two houses down Brooks. Brooks was so touched by the letter, so she decided to do something for her neighbor. In the evening she made a visit to Mills’s house along with her friend. Mills was overwhelmed with joy by seeing them. Now Brooks visits Mills four times a week. A simple letter has turned into a life-changing friendship.
