One Direction’s Louis Tomlinson Helping Elderly Man Tick Off Bucket List After Wife’s Death

Losing your loved ones can be a painful experience and after dealing with the loss of his dear mother and sister, former One Direction pop star Louis Tomlinson is paying it forward by fulfilling the bucket wishes of an elderly widower.

The pop sensation’s latest music video, “Two of Us,” Tomlinson and 83-year-old Richard fly in helicopters, drive racecars, get tattoos, ride on rollercoasters and sing in front of a packed arena, doing all the things Richard wants to do before he dies.

“He had a few things he wanted to do, so I thought I’d help him out,” Tomlinson wrote in an emotional post on Instagram. “This video feels particularly relevant and powerful to me. Richard is a classic example of a fearless man who in light of tragedy still pushes himself to live with as much laughter and happiness as possible.”

Richard, a former taxi driver and member of the Royal Air Force, lost his wife Pat two years ago after being married for 60 years to Alzheimer’s complications.

“I talk to her on a regular basis, even though she ain’t here,” Richard said in the music video. He said that he is doing all the things he and his wife always wanted to do, on the bucket list.

Louis is no stranger to grief after having lost his mother Johannah to leukemia in December 2016 to leukemia when she was just 43 and his 18-year-old
sister Felicite to a suspected heart attack.

“A lot of people, I think, bottle up these emotions and I think I’m probably one of those people as well,” Tomlinson said earlier on a show.

Hope this experience will help Louis and Richard get over the loss of their loved ones and be able to move forward.
