Sweet stories of mail carriers surprising the families on their routes with acts of kindness have brought hope to many during the pandemic but this one takes the cake.
6-year-old Chip Matthews loves to pick up the mail and more especially now when their mail carrier Tawanna Purter surprised him with a gift: a dollar bill and four quarters for his 6th birthday.
The young boy says he is saving that money up to buy a Spider-Man action figure and his mom, Bonnie, says this act of kindness has given gave the Opelika, Alabama, family hope during the pandemic after she lost her job as a school counselor.
