Harold Rahming, a captain in the US Army, serving for 17 years now had a surprise for his wife Cara who was about to give birth to their first child.
The heart tugging incident took place at the Advocate Christ Medical Center, Oak Lawn, Illinois, a suburban in Chicago.
The military husband could be seen standing in the corner of the delivery room with a toy waiting for his wife Cara. She gasped with surprise as she saw her husband and they both melted into a long emotional embrace, sobbing softly.
“I had stepped away to use the restroom and then when I came out, there was like all these people with cameras and I was like why are you recording?” Cara narrates the emotional moment.
She never had expected to see Harold, who was deployed in Iraq and was not supposed to be home for at least another month.
The baby was born few hours later and was given the name, Harold Leroy Rahming the IInd.
“No words can explain the feeling that you have when you see your wife and your child for the first time” said the proud father of the baby boy who was home from Iraq just in time for the birth of his son.
